How to Play Bridges

A Bridges puzzle is a grid with islands. Each island has a capacity, ranging from 1 to 8 (inclusive).

The goal is to find the single correct network of bridges that connects every island to every other, so that someone could walk anywhere no matter where he/she starts. There are a few guidelines to building bridges:

• – A bridge can only be built horizontally or vertically, and its two endpoints must be at two distinct islands.
• – A bridge cannot pass through an island.
• – Every island must be connected to the exact same number of bridges as its capacity.
• – Up to two bridges can connect any two distinct islands. That is, any island may have up to two bridges extending in any direction.
• – Bridges may not cross each other.
